Basta Pasta

Artisanal Craftsmanship plus Modern Design create a new expression for client's Italian roots.
Challenge: Bring together an outdated and schizophrenic restaurant with two separate halves - a registered historical bar and a dated restaurant with a mix of Victorian floral wall coverings and '70s red and white ceramic tile pizza oven.
Design Solutions:
Unified and modernized the restaurant with a warm and earthy design, infusing it with energy to attract a more youthful crowd
Incorporated unique and artisanal elements:

  • Native ceramic and porcelain tile, Giallo marble, and granite countertops
  • Wood marquetry design on custom cabinetry
  • Sparkling free-form low-voltage lighting
  • Colorful contemporary Italian art collection
  • Custom glass/metal/ceramic mosaic applied to pizza oven facade
  • Unique tile patterns and textures on floors and walls
  • Rich application of visually multi-dimensional and colorful wall finishes
  • One-of-a-kind artifacts highlighted throughout
  • Contemporary entry facade on exterior tying into new, modern interior
