Spicy colors, sparkling decorative elements and, rich earthy finished reflect tasty Thai Cuisine

Challenge: Squeeze all required functional elements including semi-exhibition cooking into 2,700-square-foot L-shaped space, meet stringent new ADA requirements, include maximum-comfort, flexible seating, and make it look delicious — all on an extremely tight budget.

Design Solutions:

• Accentuated vertical volume with custom torpedo-shaped pendants which filter light through sheer fabric shades.
• Grounded the design with texture through use of rich mahogany wood tabletops and flooring and an earthy slate entry and bar front.
• Evoked origins of the cuisine with multi-colored glass mosaic squares wrapping columns, shimmering gold and saffron wall coverings highlighting wall planes, and adding dimensional Thai art and photography.
• Warmed the space with a paint, finish, and fabric color palette of spice, curry, eggplant, and sage greens.
